MickC 1,825
Frampton thought Quigg beneath him even Mcuigan saying they had lots of other options as Quigg was only a "regular" Champion. Maybe hold out tactics for a better deal but the Gonzales fight changed all that.Frampton signs with Al Haymon for three fights iirc with the first fight being a supposed showcase fight against Gonzales with the bout being held in the USA and only the second time Gonzales has fought outside of Mexico and in his first 12 round fight and for a World Title lol . Gonzales is ranked at 76 at sbw in the World and 15 th in Mexico lol. Gonzales should never have been allowed to fight for a World Title ,it's decisions like these which are killing modern day boxing. The big unveiling in the USA nearly went tits up but Frampton recovered and got the win. Gonzales fight before Frampton was a points win over Gonzalo Garcia who had won 12,lost 11 and drew 2. Hence Frampton is now back over here and signed up to fight Quigg, had Frampton lost that fight in America the biggest payday of his career was gone. Boxing is also a business and Frampton and Quigg both know this is the biggest money maker for the both of them so best to fight now and make the big money incase one of them gets beat off somebody else. gnasher16 30,871
Quigg will stop him , can't see it any other way. Frampton should get a proper trainer in for this fight as he got lucky last fight when the wheels nearly came off. How can a professional World Champion be trained by someone that's never boxed ? Edit to Say Booth never boxed either, but Framptons Young trainer isn't no Booth . Not disagreeing with you Mick as i make you right........just to correct you slightly Booth boxed for Fitzroy Lodge as an amateur and was looking to sign a pro contract until he broke his ankle playing football and missed the boat.
