mark williams 7,568
Lads i made an enquiry by email about a rifle (i`m considering buying) and calibre being tuned by Sandwell Field Sports at 8-15 pm tonight, by 8-30pm Tony Wall himself had answered four email enquires . Just brilliant i thought, - 3 Quote Link to post

mark williams 7,568
I shot a HW 97 KT .177 stage two tuned by them at my ranges and i felt i had discovered the HW 100 with a spring in it, feck me it was good. So to put you all in the know i fancy a HW 97 kt .177 cal stage two tuned by Tony Wall. If i go for it i am waiting 16 weeks. Thoughts lads ? 1 Quote Link to post
Rez 4,961
16 weeks is a long time, but, it's your choice as to weather it's worth the wait. I've shot home made, so to speak, v-glide 97's and there very much in the same league. I think, and it's a big think, that the SFS 97 work is basically a v-glide version. No metal to metal etc. how much is the tune? 180 ish? The basic donor rifle is gonna be 430 ish, the glide kit from Steve pope would be 200 ish, if you go that route. As an edit, the v-glide kit comes ready to install. Which is good as you can take the rifle apart and sort it yourself. The SFS tune is done and put back together, take it apart and there is no doubt an anti tamper sticker installed, I would if it was my brand of tune, where they'll know if you take it apart, put it back together and find it isn't as it was performance wise, and they be like its your problem... Kinda thing, you shouldn't of took it apart. Has anyone actually took apart a SFS build...? As another extra if you are considering the tuned setup mark, have a look at the Paul Short jobbies. 1 Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,568
Your not wrong mate £160. Do remember though, ( i fancy the stage two 97 kt ) but not thoroughly convinced yet. Quote Link to post

So it is cheaper and it would be a nice rifle. Do it. Just so I can see it in your signature. Poo pushers calibre though 2 Quote Link to post

shepp 2,285
I think Tony fettles the trigger because mine from him has a better trigger than any air rifle I have shot. 1 Quote Link to post

mark williams 7,568
In the questions asked to Tony Wall at Sandwell Fields , i asked about tuning my AA T Rex and was told - no, it is already done, the most i could do is add a tiny blob of thick grease to the spring guide. Very honest, straight talking lad i thought,- thank you Tony. 1 Quote Link to post
treecreeper 1,136
get your hands dirty, pretty simple the 97. don't get the sissy cal or a thumbhole though it wont be much different to your trex though mark if that's been sorted. you ever had a go with a sweet SR?
