Born Hunter 17,909
Am I right in my understanding of Boyds stocks shipping policy, that they won't ship any rifle stocks with a value of over $100? https://www.boydsgunstocks.com/international-customers "Rifle orders with a product value over $100.00 CANNOT be exported (excluding Canada). There is no value limit on Shotgun stocks & Forends." I know some of you have experience with them.... Dropped my wood stocked Tikka at the weekend and fractured the pistol grip so need a replacement. I like the Richards stocks but they haven't replied to my email and their internet reputation isn't great. Bell & Carlson aren't cheap and their Tikka stock has had no thought towards improvement put into it at all. There's also a fella on eBay that seem to make nice Boyds copies, but fecking pricey! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/tikka-t3-standard-factory-inlet-thumbhole-stocks-black-walnut-/252106392873 Quote Link to post
ianm 2,594
The bloke on ebay might be "pricey" but they are proper walnut as opposed to boyds polished plywood. Quote Link to post
Born Hunter 17,909
I was quite happy to have the polished ply tbh. That walnut does look nice but it doesn't add anything to the functionality of a gun. Climbing in and out of land rovers, quad bikes and high seats etc, just not worth having anything glamorous. That's exactly what I was looking at but then read their international policy and wasn't sure if I could actually buy it? I'm hoping it'll improve my mount/stability too as I have found the factory T3 stock wank in all honesty. Quote Link to post

It will mate they are very stiff, and have two steel pins in the stock cross ways to add to the rigidity,I was going to glass bed mine, but after fitting it I found it not needed, it turned an already accurate rifle into a tack driver. Well, just tried ordering and my prior concern has been validated it seems.... "Your order Exceeds $100 and is being shipped to GREAT BRITAIN. You dont have a Federal Export License on file with Boyd's Gunstocks; therefore this order is being cancelled. You do have the option of editing the order to make the total less than $100" Well that's a bit shit! LOL 1 Quote Link to post

Metalman2 45
That's a shame, I wasn't aware of this when I bought a Tacticool stock for my CZ 455, mind you, stock &92, postage &74, and when it arrived here, £26 import duty. If I had known how it would add up I would have probably bought in this country. Nice stock though Quote Link to post

Born Hunter 17,909
Edit and buy BH How mate? All the stocks are $129...... Unless I get someone from the US or Canada to buy it for me and send it on I'm up shit creek. 1 Quote Link to post

I handled a polymer stocked T3 lite but just didn't like the feel or strangely how light it was, lol. The varmint stock does at least look better ergonomically though. I think in the future I will always just buy the cheapest stock they have and then bin it and buy an aftermarket stock. Which with the reported barrel wear on the 25 could be sooner than most would like! Quote Link to post
