lifelong cumbrian 1,829
Finally got my Sandwell field sports stage 1 tuned HW95k in 177. Set the scopes up yesterday and got the chance of a short look out with it tonight. No twangs or rattles just a nice crisp thud. Got a shot at a rabbit about 25yds and dropped it, then got a shot about 35yds and dropped that as well. Just got the 2 shots and 2 rabbits, first impressions is it is a great little light rifle, nothing fancy just does the job well. I enjoyed the spring rifle, i can see me leaving the HW100 at home a bit now. 5 Quote Link to post
villaman 9,982
Very nice guns to shoot , I have one in .22 the only thing I had to do is put a heavier mod on to stop any muzzel flip. The other night ,I put three pellets in a row through a 8mm hole ,size of a hole in a polo mint at 30 yards knelling witnessed 3 Quote Link to post

lifelong cumbrian 1,829
It took a while mate, well more a long time, i ordered it on the 1st of June and got it Saturday. I believe Tony was out of action for a while. Anyway i had the 100 so i told him it was not a problem waiting. I was not so sure that the stage 1 tune would be so great but Tony assured me it would be a good job and as i said i am more than happy with it, very smooth, trigger is nice also and its never been touched. I like the sleekness of it and the weight is great. I was looking at a 97 or pro sport/tx200 but i went to the local gun shop to handle a few and did not like the weight. I am very happy with it, thought about the imp but they only available in .22 and i wanted .177. Need to get out with it a bit more to give a better opinion but so far it is really impressive. 1 Quote Link to post

villaman 9,982
Hi VM You could of put som rolled lead, inside the mod,to reduce muzzle flip. I did think about doing that , but I had a JB mod which came from a BSA R10 cut down barrel and shroud , John made a very good silencer from it , just that little bit heavier than the HW mod and it works a treat Quote Link to post

VWman 232
Hi VM You could of put som rolled lead, inside the mod,to reduce muzzle flip. Interesting, I got a mate who is a 20 year Shooter to use my HW95 yesterday in the 30 mtr barn so I could see what was happening as the rifle was in use. I could see a bit of flip but when I use it I don't have any bother hitting the mark but can feel it flip. My 95k is a .22 and would be interested in how to load the mod with lead, any info would be appreciated. I was going to try a band of lead around the outside. Cheers. Quote Link to post
villaman 9,982
If you are hitting the mark why bother doing any thing to it ? Quote Link to post
VWman 232
If you are hitting the mark why bother doing any thing to it ? Just for the feel, but I know it will never feel like my 77 but is nicer to carry around and is very pointable around the barns. 1 Quote Link to post

Newlife2 55
I believe that Tony Wall says that the 95 is his favourite springer.. congratulations on your 95 , it is a gun for all reasons. Quote Link to post
