timmy k 593
Basically does anyone use them, how well do they work and what's the best make to get? Quote Link to post
MIK 4,763
They can work well heres a vid taken on my phone from last month 125 the first day over 100 the second day but only pick 70 something as a lot landed in uncut rape and 168 picked on the 3rd day .... If magnets are used a lot in an area they will become wise to it ....but overall they are a good bit of kit to have and I have seen birds coming in from quite a distance....I often use a magnet and nothing else and when roost shooting I sometimes put one out just to bring the birds over me and in range and it works well Quote Link to post

The results do diminish if they are over used in the one place, and they are not as effective as they first were. But as a piece of kit, they are worth having. Timmy, don't ask me what make it is. I've had it nigh on 20 years and cant remember. Quote Link to post
MIK 4,763
George Digweed and Andy Crow have good results with the magnet but maybe they are not as experienced at pigeon shooting as you Leslie 1 Quote Link to post
leslie harold gedge 1,390
a lot of pigeon shooters around Yorkshire so just maybe they are shy of magnets . mic if you live up there in the wilderness there is nobody to scare them .trenchfoot 6 years is along time for them to get used to them madnets and make them wary a lot more people shooting now from when I first started going nearly 40 years ago .there is about 40 people shooting round me now .only 4-5 when I started .just maybe ff5s wont be any good in 10 years but I,am sure something else will be about Quote Link to post

It pushed the flightline a good 200 yards. And away from the road. Had a cracking days sport. As I said useful things to have at times 1 Quote Link to post

trigger2 3,285
magnets can be good on occasions but more often than not they put pigeons off these days. the best bags that we have shot this summer have been with just a standard pattern out not flappers or magnets used.
