4 Woodys For The Rapid

Recommended Posts

set a hide up last week in a big wood with lots of conifers and nice trees ,used it for the first time this morning had full camo on face veil and gloves and a good cover from behind me ,i was only in the hide 10 minutes when the first woody perched its self at a tree straight oppisit me clean head shot 30 yards ,second woody 35 yards head shot got this one as it mooved at the same time i pulled the trigger to look at my direction ,third shot i could only just see the breast side on of the bird but decided to take the shot at 35 yards it dropped the woody but did not kill it out right something im never happy about but i ran out quick follow up to the head and it was dead ,4th was a 48 yard head shot which got me a nice big fat cock bird and made me happy about the shot before,it was a nice calm day no wind at all,my sparrow hawks eat well this morning

Nice shooting, always gets the heart racing when trying to get shots on cautious woodies coming into trees. Are the sparrowhawks wild birds or ones that you fly? Not a common bird to raise as most do harris or goshawks.

I paid 600 for this rapid mk1, a bit more then I wanted to but its a minter stock blueing and has had very little use so I went for it, really isva lovely gun to use in the field and woods light as anything I can carry it about all day. Not like some of my other rifles
