Hi Mac,all,

I`ve watched and learned from many a shooting lad/lass on this forum and one thing i have learned (amongst many things) from you Mac is that you miss your Raider.

We have all made mistakes in life - go get another Raider Mac, seriously, get another Raider.

I dont think i could achieve the results a HW 100 kt gives me, with any other rifle, but that`s my confidence, not yours mate, what i`m trying to say is (hope this is right) - "confidence and belief" is probably 90 % of building your shot  .

Another thing i know of you Mac - you like things to be spot on, so if you will, you need to have a good session(s) with the HW 100 in the format of your choice and make your decision then.

I would never drop the 100`s, but an ex is not an ex for nothing.

Good luck Mac

Haha. I have struck a nerve perhaps...

Hmm. I agree with the posts above. Get a raider. It's very you, not like us poncy 100 owners :D

Don't get me wrong, you'll fill the game bag over and over with a 100. You just will. They are superb... erelivent of calibre. But the same goes with a raider... You've done it before with one in twenty two, imagine that flatter trajectory of a new one in 177.

That old raider of yours was no doubt out in the wind, rain and snow, and still delivered the goods. A companion in another word. It's that element of a rifle that's makes it a 'mate', in a weird way, and not just a tool and will somehow keep shots and hunting sessions as memories. For example, I bet you remember certain shots with that raider that you can describe as clear as day now.

Without this being an argument starter, mark ;) I think that's what the 100 lacks, a personality. I could shoot any members 100 just as accurately as my own, making it a tool, but a rifle that has a personality needs to be shot the right way, a way the owner only knows, thus making it individual, that right way may only be small differences but it makes a world of difference. I know that makes no sense, but I'm sure many of you know what I mean.

My old mk1 rapid is a prime example. It's very accurate, but no one else will get it to group like me. If I shot anyone's else's old mk1 rapid, it would take me hours to get to grips with it. It's that thing that Rapids have... Character. Any 100 will group well for any one that's shot for a month or two at most.

I don't really know what I ment with what I said in that post, but you've always done very well with rifles that not many of us own, your the not the sheep of the forum, and it's a real good post in the hunting topics when someone is dropping rabbits with an unsual set up.

It keeps the sport and interest fresh.

As an edit, I cant edit the same post for some reason.

I think thats what makes spring air rifle shooting so good. Its that connection with the rifle that owners have.

A bond. I couldn't shoot anyone else's 97 the way I do mine, because its the same, but different.

I already told you last week when you sold the S410, buy yourself another Raider or the likes in .22 - you know how to shoot with it and it's 1/2 the price of a HW100, also you would get to keep your beloved 97K ;)

It's a no brainer mate :)

2 x Ibuprofen and 2 paracetamol every 4 hrs, lots of saltwater mouth washes for tooth...

As for the Raider, don't even go down the f***ing .177 route, it doesn't suit you ;)

Might be worth giving Bagnall & Kirkwood or County House Air Guns a call and see what they got in ???
