Rez 4,961
Some images from various trips on those bloody rabbits again on my new'ish permission. I dont just shoot rabbits ya know, I do shoot my targets too. Went tonight [the moody image with the sunsetting], got 6, slowly getting there on the buggers. Im sick to death of shooting does! If I knew they were carrying I wouldn't take the shot, thoughts on what to look for would be much appreciated. I know they grow up to become problem rabbits but it doesn't feel right. On a good note... The 100 in 177 is becoming a pest control beast. For sure. 4 Quote Link to post

Dr B 186
Hi Rez I lose no sleep over killing pregnant rabbits. I don't necessarily target them, but just collateral damage really. Don't beat yourself up over it. If the kills were humane, then job done. The ones in the belly will just go into a coma and die (painlessly) from cerebral anoxia. Its unavoidable - but unborn rabbits are unlikely to be conscious of their existence. Quote Link to post

Its unavoidable - but unborn rabbits are unlikely to be conscious of their existence. A rather scientific but perhaps correct analogy of the situation I find myself in. It still doesn't feel right. Surely all life deserves a chance, until its becomes a new sense to someone i.e. the landowner. [spelt wrong I know: Newcense...whatever] And by taking does, the sport of shooting rabbits create becomes lesser for next year. Quote Link to post
Dr B 186
it could be argued its more humane, as the unborn have never known life, so nothing to be lost. Like I say, I don't target them specifically, and yes one can feel a certain way about it, But ultimately, I don't dwell on it. I'd rather not shoot a milky / pregnant doe, but it does happen. I feel much worse about quarry not taken cleanly or as cleanly as I'd have liked. Quote Link to post

mark williams 7,568
You can see why i love the 100`s Rez . I can fully understand your reluctance to shoot the Doe rabbit but, well, i suppose it has to be done.( doesn`t wash well with me either). Have you considered a bipod for her ? Shooting by the way 1 Quote Link to post

If a man can tell a milky doe from all the other rabbit at 35 / 40 yards he's fecin good cause I can't and I don't suppose many can , it's just one of those things But any way good shooting mate Atb Dave Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,568
Funnily enough Mark ive posted in the general about one... Well if that`s the case Rez you are in for a shock, the HW 100 off a bipod is the most lethal air rifle i have ever used by a country mile, she is lethal off the bi pod . I`m looking forward to your thoughts on this combination, - you will not be disappointed . 1 Quote Link to post
