My laptop has wifi but my desktop is so old it doesn't. I used to have it plugged into the router via cable and that worked fine, but the router isn't in the same room as the desktop now, so rather than run a long ethernet cable round the house, for the time being I'm using one of those plug in wifi dongle things, but it really is slow. Short of buying a new desktop, is there another way like plugging in a new card or something somewhere?

Answers in easy to understand phrases please. :D

Buy a WiFi card from scan.com and hope ya feckin archaic motherboard will take it

Arthur Negus said it was a very nice motherboard.

The youngsters won't get that mate, just use your desk top for work stuff etc and buy a tablet for about £125

Cheers, D.

Eyes are too bad for a tablet Dave. I use the laptop when I'm sitting in front of the telly, but the desktop has a much bigger screen and all my work stuff on it.
