Cedric 132
Is it unusual for a scope to take a couple of shots to "settle" after you have turned the turrets to adjust POI? I knocked my scope last night so went out today to check the zero. First group was left and a little low, three clicks right and two up. Next shot went in the same place then the others moved right and up. This happened a couple of times as I moved the reticule. Quote Link to post
andyf 144
Yes that's quite a 'normal' feature, particularly on new scopes of 'modest' cost. The mechanism inside scopes is quite intricate and everything is tight and under spring tension, so the minute change of a couple of clicks doesn't move anything too far. AF Quote Link to post
Deker 3,491
A not uncommon feature of cheaper scopes. This should not happen on any scope of reasonable quality. Quote Link to post
zx10mike 137
if mine did that it would go in the bin.a it moved when knocked and b the mechanics should move with the turrets not recoil.sorry pal your scope is scrap imo. 1 Quote Link to post
Tremo 138
I've got to agree with Mike here Cedric. There is a distinct probability that while we are out in the field, our scopes will take numerous "light" bumps. The loss in confidence in the accuracy of your scope as a result of this is not good. Obviously I would expect a full drop of the rifle to have some effect on the POI, but not the occasional bump. Get yourself a new one mate. Quote Link to post
Cedric 132
I dropped it - or rater, it fell over when propped against a trailer whilst I was spotting. Fell flat on it's side. The zero was only out by a small margin and I only noticed the problem when trying to make minor adjustments. I've got it spot on again now. Quote Link to post
