I'm really lucky living where I do on a peninsular, I have Liverpool one side over the Mersey and North Wales the other side over the Dee, in between the 2 I have Chester and the scenic beauty of Cheshire, these pics are of Liverpool my favourite place for a day or night out, beautiful city full of real character's and unrecognisable from the city I remember as a kid, some pics of the "Battle of the Atlantic" celebrations in May 2013, I will add more from the "HMS Invincible" and "HMS LIVERPOOL" events as well later, thanks for looking, pics took with my old Nikon D80, WM

The Albert Dock is a real historic place, remember the Weather Man Fred Talbot, who fell in the drink when presenting the forecast?

Seem to remember he got a history of noncing or something?

Nice pics there wc. Liverpool sure is a cracking place. I had a weekend there last summer with the family, had a right good time, so much to do, ferry, buss tour, museums, places to eat, the 'liverpool eye' and some amazing architecture. Fortunately, same as you by the looks of it, blessed with that rare british phenomenon.... some nice weather!

I'll try to stick a few piccys up at some point.?

I took these from the river on my mates charter boat after servicing the engines, even let my mrs drive, what was I thinking,LOL's, anyway "HMS LIVERPOOL" was in for her final journey after touring the gulf and afganistan, etc, she was showing a few battle scar's but still a great ship, WM

Heading out to sea to test the engines fully

The famous "Dockers Clock" every side has a clock face on it so the dockers could always see it no matter where they were, on our side of the water we had the "one o clock gun" which was mounted on the old "pump dock" by the cattle staging to let the dockers know it was dinner time.

The "sea mans church" can be seen in the middle of this pic, it was very busy during the war as people prayed for the safe return of their loved ones, very much neglected these days, WM

these are the vents for the "Mersey tunnel"

still a busy river

busy and I let me mrs drive,LOL's

you can see both cathedrals in this, the catholic "Paddy's Wigwam" as we know it and the protestant one on the right of the "echo arena"

Echo arena with the "EYE" and the "Radio City tower"
