Duffus Trap Triggers.

Some people say you should "camouflage" the trigger plate of a scissor trap with a layer of mud so the mole thinks he is just shoving soil.

Likewise does anyone do this with their Duffus triggers, I've never tried it, but I have a patch

with what seems to be pretty savvy blighters. They are filling both the Duffus and scissor traps.

I,ll give it a go, it cant hurt to try, but I expect every concievable way of setting has been tried before.

I think you are looking at the wrong reason for your traps being filled. Millions of moles are trapped every year using Duffus traps with unadulterated triggers.

Why bother?

 

If the trap is tuned correctly it should go off the second a mole touches it, with or without soil.

 

I never bother, and don't seem to struggle to catch them

I've given some away to fly tyers for fishing, god knas what they do with them.

They pinch out some fur and then spread them along a length of waxed thread. When the thread is wound round the hook shank it makes the fly's body look hairy just like a natural fly.
