green dragon 701 Posted February 22, 2015 Report Share Posted February 22, 2015 Alright guys iv been looking for my first lurcher for a while now and iv seen some nice pups the sire is 3/4 greyhound 1/8 dearhound 1/8 collie and dam is weaton bull greyhound I just wanted to know how do you breed the 1/8th into a dog i know it's probably a silly question but I'm new to lurchers and still learning any advice would be much appreciated thanks guys. Maximus Ferret 2,065 Posted February 22, 2015 Report Share Posted February 22, 2015 Threequarter grey/collie bred to threequarter grey/deerhound would produce 1/8 collie, 1/8 deerhound, 3/4 grey. The pup you're looking at would have 1/16th collie and 1/16th deerhound but you shouldn't waste too much energy worrying about fractions. The best time of year to look for any pup is the beginning of April,around the 1st is possibly beset with Bull and Saluki litters,the day after Hancock takes hold of your jackson. Quote Link to post
