Morton, I see your point and if i didnt know any better i would agree that he does look like there is more in the mix, saluki i guess is what many would think, genuinely not the case though, will get some more pictures. His coat is similar to other bed x grey types i have seen in the flesh, but does look feathered on the pictures. But i will speak to the old man to find out a little more info regards the generations and exactly what bed and grey, whippet and when was added. Morton genuine question but would you not get more variation with breeding lurcher to lurcher, as more x s are in the mix potentially, as i say i am know expert having never breed a litter personally and what would you go with over a whippet to gain size? only asking as i will be hopefully getting a pup in the near future as i say preferably off this dog to a smaller type atb.

Ive seen littermates that have gone from 22" to 27" in lurcher to lurcher breeding, nothing is set in stone,i prefer to line breed, not always possible then you have to take an educated guess based on the performance of the dam and sire, again that is fraught with the X factor as the best of breeding may not match.I like the type of dog you own, just bigger,im the Beddys biggest fan,but would not put terrier into my lurcher breeding, ive seen the posts from the Whippet maestro and would absolutely adore a pup from his and yours, yet i believe he is better sourcing a mutt with less risk in the breeding, percentages mucker.Id put that dog of yours over another Beddy type Grew and give me first choice on a gift.

completely forgot id started this topic, anyways for a number of reasons, ive decided to buy a pup in, main reason being, i dont want any pups left on my hands apart from the 1 i would be keeping, , i went to look at some tuther week, yard full of shite, and more hair twixt my thighs than the pups had on there backs, maybe im to fussy, it maybe i will only ever have what ive got, no worries

thanks for your comments

It would have to be a tried and tested whippet that is well bred would be my choice I'm. Whilst there are the whippet dogs out there ticking all the boxes I personally wouldnt bother risking putting a lurcher over her and having wastage from the litter. Jmo

Saying that I have a lurcher here that is half whippet and he has made a nice stamp of a dog but as he was growing it did cross my mind that he could turn out to look like Dog from the hills have eyes. Hope you get what you want whatever you decide
