shaaark 11,519
Hi lads, just a qick question about .20 cal. Is it really the best of both .177 and .22, or not quite as good as either? Looking at getting a new rifle very soon and really fancy one in .20. Please could people keep any replies as easy to understand as pssible? I am but a simple man as regards trajectory, ballistic coefficiency etc etc! Lol thanks guys . Oh yeah, would be used for hunting Quote Link to post
Bunnyblatter 1,012
In a word yes mate. I think they're better than .177 ( harder hitting ) and better then .22 ( flatter trajectory ). Just my opinion mate but I really y do like mine and have shot many pigeons with it Quote Link to post

ratbuster 808
I do have a Theoben Countryman in .20 doing 15 fpe, it really is a very accurate air rifle, when I do my part using JSB exact at 13,6 grains the rifle is doing around the 700 fps mark and out to targets at 45 meters it's spot on. Great caliber, but the choice in pellets is limited, I use either JSB or H&N FTT and they do the job for me. Best of both worlds (nice song by the late Robert Palmer) as well, give it a try, and see if it suits you 1 Quote Link to post

magnummike 39
I have a HW8O in .2O and is a very accurate rifle , I shoot H&N ftt's that weigh in at 11.42 grains the rest of the pellet makes weigh in at over 13 grains putting the weight in the light weight .22 catogory therefore loosing the .2O cal advantage of flatter shooting than the .22 with harder hitting than the .177 . But if the H&N's dont suit your barrel you might as well get a .22 with greater pellet selection , but if you dont go for it you will never know and miss out on this great cal . Its a gamble on one pellet realy , if it suits your barrel your ok It did in my HW 8O's barrel thank God ATB Mike 2 Quote Link to post
ratbuster 808
The different pellet weights in .20 (5mm) http://www.straightshooters.com/pellet-weights.html Not as much to choose from as in .177 or .22 but still enough to find a match with your rifle / barrel 1 Quote Link to post

ratbuster 808
Dear Rez, I'm an Old School man myself....... (born in 1957, that was in the century for this one ) I bought these rifles when I was YOUNG ! Quote Link to post

Rimfireboy! 1,463
Superfield are 10.8 grains I think. They're readily available. My Theoben sirocco seems to work well with most .20 pellets. I've got 3500 champion .20's for it to digest. Should last a while. Quote Link to post
