socks 32,253
The last fella that wore an English top to my rugby club had it stripped off him ... He was then duly painted red with white three feathers on his chest ... After the game we had a sacrificial burning of the top whilst singing the welsh national anthem ........... Tiercel 6,986
Right boyos, Friday night it is, 20.05 or for the English five past eight in the evening. Predictions please, French ref who does not like messy breakdowns, likes to penalise people going in off their feet. Lot of injuries with England which will not help them, a new centre partnership too. But, unlike England's teams of old this English team can play it both ways, up the jumper or fast and wide and are quite happy either way. With Wales on the other hand it can depend on what heads the players have on on the day? If they have the we can beat you heads on, then they are a formidable force. Defensively sound with an awesome strike power in the backs. Can't wait. TC
Tiercel 6,986
Oops! Forgot my prediction.I think Wales will give away a few penalties so I will go for 15-9 to Wales. TC

*The*Field*Marshall* 674
Never sure who to support in the 6 nations. . I was born in Wales but boxed internationally for England, my father Scotland, my mother Ireland and my grandfather was French. . No wop though which I'm happy about :-D out of touch with sporting world at present so I've got no predictions. . Just hoping for a good tournament!
walshie 2,804
I've lived in wales since I was 13. Always supported england rugby. You do get idiots but they're generally football fans at heart, lol. I'll come and watch it with you walshie. Just don't tell them its a holiday home and don't call them Gog's. I'll go with 14-9 England. I would rather drive over the border for an england wales game or at least into Cardiff.I have been the only Englishmen in a 200 seat rugby club and listening to 'shove your chariots' can get tiresome lol. Holiday home? Cheek.
walshie 2,804
Now I've got all that anguish again this afternoon. C'mon Ireland!
Tiercel 6,986
France Scotland was an enjoyable game. An effort to play some rugby by both teams. Scotland have some good youngsters learning the job and quite quickly as well. TC
Malt 379
To be honest, I doubt any of that really goes on, but if it does, I'd rather stay at home and watch it than have to hide my national identity. I'd have no respect for a Welshman who hid his, wherever he was. Oh it does go on but all in "the best possible taste" Pi$$ taking is the Welsh national hobby, and if you can give as good as you get you will be well respected for it. TC As I said last year, I watched 2 games in a pub in Carmarthen. Unfortunately England weren't playing Wales, but I saw both teams play and there was nothing but good natured banter all afternoon. We even had locals sitting at our table discussing the 2 teams strengths/weaknesses. Even better, I'm moving to Little England. Oh no you ain't, you're well on the Welsh side of the so called Landsker line that defines English speaking and Welsh speaking West Wales. I STRONGLY advise you dont try telling the locals up there they live in "Little England beyond Wales" when there's beer involved! That phrase has fallen out of fashion even round here.. Tiercel 6,986
I read an article the other day about the Welsh training camp. I cannot remember which English player was quoted in it, I think it may have been Robshaw, but I am not 100% sure. I have tried to look for the article again but just cannot find it. Anyway the quote from the English player was that "you would never get me doing that" "they must be really tired." I believe the jist of it is, that Wales training consists of 90% gym work and 10% playing training. The object is that they are aiming to peak fitness wise for the world cup. Now whether that is just a pre game blarney in case they loose, or is genuinely the case I could not tell you? One thing is for certain though, a lot of Welsh players looked tired in the second half of the game Friday. TC
