nottzhunter08 898
to be honest mate we wasn't concerned about catching a lot... I probably had around 25 slips including crap slips which dropped over the brow or down an hole with lass, and the other two lads managed around 15 - 20 including crap slips... we was just giving dogs a few runs here and there but there was a fair few to go at but some parts were crap... we was ferreting the next day with the dogs aswell so didn't want to over do them... cheers mate 1 Quote Link to post
morton 5,369
Sounds like youse had a good night good stuff and each to there own but would you not of been better off takin just the one dog or even just 2 with the rabbits caught evened out abit more, can't think of out worse than tryin to get enough runs for 3 dogs unless a place was lifting with gear to do em all justice.. The lads have planned a trip out,the company is often as important as the nights tally. Before you set of you must realise you have little control over whats on the land, when you get there you do as you do,any runs a bonus, you learn the land and location and the second trip is often more fruitful. 2 Quote Link to post

morton 5,369
agree with you Morton Ive travelled for hours in company, then made the return journey without some of the dogs getting exercise, ive even done the odd dirty deed and had a 3 dog slip just so as the mutts got a chase.Ive nothing but respect for the lads that do the miles and put in the effort to give the dogs a gallop.Ill guarantee the more you make the effort the more slips you get, keep at it grasshopper. J Darcy 5,871
There's been a massive difrence in numbers ,,there right down on what they were The places I used to haunt over stump cross way are almost devoid of rabbits. I don't think they'll ever bounce back, not in my lifetime... Still, better to have loved and lost............. 1 Quote Link to post
