Astanley 11,676
A sixth form college I Brighton is urging sociology students to attend Brightons match against Millwall ,so they can learn about ,masculinity , working class habits , homophobia and racism , . The students are encouraged to be "sociologists " and to "even Talk " to fans , as a safety measure they are told to buy a pie and wash it down with Bovril so they don't stand out , Its good that the middle classes want to study the working class white male before he becomes extinct .don't you think . Brigzy 1,298
It won't be carnage; it'll be the usual idiots and kids hiding behind police, shouting abuse at each other ! I was at the recent newcastle/Liverpool game and there wasn't a bit of trouble ! Carnage happens in wars and genocide; it doesn't happen at football matches , though that will not stop the press blowing everything out of proportion.
gnasher16 31,602
Apparently next Wks NE Derby is going to only have a small a Police Presence because they think the fans will be fine after the deaths of John Alder and Liam Sweeney RIP Safc fans raised thousands so those in charge think it will be a Big Love In lol Dont that tell you everything about the difference in rivalries round the country..............i have absolutely no doubt in saying the Met would not even consider trusting West Ham/Millwall with a small police presence .....or a few other derbies round the country either.....and cold hearted as it sounds the idea of raising money for the families of dead Millwall/West Ham fans would be completely inconceivable our mobs would probably be making up terrace chants about them....sick as that is ! Thats the difference between playing your rivals twice per season every season..... and playing them less than 15 times in 70 odd years like us !......I believe theres only been a handful of games in the last 10 years police categorised as cat c plus games.......and that was West Ham v Millwall........Millwall v Cardiff.......Blackburn v Burnley.....and another which escapes my mind. Plod dont take chances with football these days they normally over compensate rather than under. Edited December 11, 2014 by gnasher16
Onlyworkmatters 1,584
There was always a buzz when West Ham or Millwall came to Ninian park
gnasher16 31,602
Summer love in ......i remember as a 16 year old when a load of Millwall fans were coming back from a game against Palace and ran into a bunch of West Ham on the train at New Cross station.....a Millwall fan called Ian Pratt was thrown under a train and killed and for years the terrace chant was " West Ham boys,we got brains......we throw Millwall under trains "..........and " 1 nil to the cockney boys Pratt "...........the next time we played they was leaving cards around the streets near Upton Park for the week before the game saying " 1 West ham fan MUST die "!.......which eventually led to the mothers day massacre, the greatest day of my football following life a 1 nil win over newly promoted Millwall at their ground where the Icf smashed up every pub along the Old Kent Rd including the Canterbury Arms their fortress.....even our under 5,s destroyed most of South Bermondsey we mullered them on and off the pitch that day............big masculine Millwall fans my arse !!........funny days, ridiculously stupid looking back, but still funny days.
