Alright for you posh folk living in houses we never had a step to scrub i remember my ol mum scrubbing the whole flight of stairs then handing over to the family underneath to do the next flight then they would hand over to the family underneath and so on..................................until we moved to the posh flats that had a lift that is ! I can remember my old gran she was moved in a prefab in the war and that's were she stayed . I can see her now in her tabard scrubbing the step and then painting it red . You are right there, load's of today's society don't know how to use a sweeping brush, you also see some pavement's with 3ft weeds growing outside the front door and the owners walk past everyday oblivious.
