slipper 116
Just curious on how long pheasant and duck breasts will be ok in the fridge?
Tiercel 6,986
As long as they were put in fresh and were kept at a stable temperature, I would still eat after 2 weeks no problem. But that is just me, I am not telling you to do that. (Just covering my ass from a claim.) TC
mole trapper 1,705
Duck you gotta be a bit more careful, pheasants, when we've had cooler winters down here in the sw, I've hung them a fortnight on the shed door and they've been proper. In the fridge not bunched up two weeks is fine imo.

Tiercel 6,986
Bet you've got an exciting fridge there tiercel..... I'd probably have a go up to a week. I'd freeze if I wanted to leave them longer, saying that I sure they'd be fine as tiercel said....he said it first though and I think that makes him liable. I love a 21 day matured steak , not so keen on poultry, only hang a pheasant for 2 days don't know how anyone could eat one thats dropped off its head, lol. Quite a few years ago, I used to sell rabbits to a fish monger, who used to sell game as well. I used to get pheasants off him that had been hanging in the market for at least two weeks, and they were green. But they were the best tasting pheasants ever, cold. They tasted disgusting warm, but once they cooled down they were absolutely gorgeous, and even nicer as they were free and supposed to be for ferret food. TC
