The one 8,592
We where out ferreting beside a coastal path today , when my son walk down and dispatch a rabbit and a wee fatso with her brat says nice jacket do you do that for money or a hobby ?. i said for my dinner she shouted this is a nature walk and you could miss a few dinners , My son replied this is a coastal walk away and ask the farmer what we are doing . she walked away muttering and wouldnt listen about the damage etc . shame as a guy on a bike stopped and asked if we had caught much and later on a school teacher said is it okay to watch ? i had a pupil who played truant all the time and when i asked why he said i go ferreting he then said do a project on it them and apparently the teacher was fascinated by it and it helped stopped the kid playing hooky 2 Quote Link to post

Phil Lloyd 10,739
We often work alongside Public footpaths, Nature Reserves,.Schools, Factory Units...etc, etc... Most folk can be educated as to what you are trying to achieve,..but some poor souls feel a genuine pain when they see rabbits hitting nets, or being nabbed by dogs. Unfortunately,.there is no time to take these troubled folk to one side and carefully explain , the business... On a paid job, you only have a few hours to effect a result,..so,..I have found it best, to be polite and act professional. Occasionally you will meet a person,..or group of folk,.who try to get in amongst the nets and attempt to stop the action. When this occurs,.you either have to pick up and pack up,..or get involved.... It is a sad fact,.but nowadays,..we have to be seen to be doing things, correctly.... Never thought it would come to this,.but , it has.. All the best, and good hunting,.but do go careful, cos it is dangerous, out there.. 2 Quote Link to post
