Seems the IS have finally got what they wanted in the way of a war , how long before our resources are put in the US led coalition ?.Is this going to end with boots on the ground again . Cant think they will relish a few months of Tomahawk missiles , smart bombs , drones & every other type of exploding shite falling from a great height upon them , but will it be enough ?..

Can't see it being enough because they can just split and go amongst innocent people. It's not like is where a uniform, it's an ideology. I have started thinking maybe the long term plan is sharia law anyway? I mean regardless of how many bombs you drop Muslims have more kids and sharia law is part of their religion. Just because there's sharia law doesn't mean there isn't currption and people in power. All it means is we won't stand a chance of being able to vote them out. Sounds good if your one of those with power. Probably over thinking but just find it abit unreal that the stuff that people are allowed to get away with and don't think mps are stupid. Funny how Cameron got defeated over going into Syria, then Obama had to back down a few days later, we never heard of IS up to that point And who's ever seen a rag head group wearing identical black uniforms and driving brand new identical trucks The very best tactic of muslim fighters is to blend in with civilians, if they didn't do that they wouldn't last 5 seconds. Real muslim fighters plant IED' s by night and herd goats by day. I'm not saying there's no genuine rebels, islamists, nut jobs, whatever you want to call them, but a lot of what were being fed is total bollocks as an excuse to invade again. No wonder the same people own everything, control everything and have done for the last 5,000 years, we swallow any old shite.

Let them set up their Islamic caliphate, secure it's borders (no outgoing travel), then 'encourage' them all to go and live there - we get rid and they get to live in a medeaval Sharia 5hithole - everyone's a winner !

They need to be honest with the realities of this campaign and that's that if local ground forces can't produce results then our only option will be to do the ground campaign ourselves. Air and Naval strikes will give these ground forces a huge boost but they still have to win the war town to town and house to house the old fashioned way. Lets hope the local malitias save our lads the trouble...

 

We know UK/US special forces are over there doing their secret squirrel shit but it's worth remembering how effective the SF task forces were at dealing with the rising insurgency after the coalition invasion. US SEALs, DELTA and UK SAS and SBS f***ing hammered these same islamists we are dealing with now. Then we pulled out and the country fell apart through bad politics. Perhaps we'll see similar again.

 

Also, the solution to this can't just be military, ISIL are a functioning economy now, they're being funded through a number of mechanisms but one we can't ignore is the likes of our supposed allies like Qatar!!!
