Doing Her Back Up Before She Go,s Into Retirement

Well lads as most of you no iv gone over to 177 with the new scorpion so i nearly sold the raider and some of the lads off here were not happy about me selling her mainly REZ and mattybugeye saying she has earned her keep twice over and i shud keep her .

 

So i took her back off sale now she was looking a bit ruff so i thought im going to do her back up before i put her into retirement now as most of you no she has been camo,d ,stain,d loads of colors and painted black (she looks good i think in black but that's just my opinion)/

 

She has been through all of this and never missed a beat and all ways been faith full to the end and then some

Iv said it before and ill say it again she will mach any hw 100 or gay state shot for shot so this time iv stripped her back and stained her black rather than paint her but the action is in a bad way so she is going to have the action painted .

 

Im happy the lads talked me out of selling her here are a few photos of the refurbishment

but she is not finished yet got to let the stock dry then rub her down with wire wool then stain her again and repeat the proses until nice and smooth atvbmac

Mac. This could be the best news I've had all day after a mission at work mate. To be honest, at the end of the day it's your rifle, and you could of sold her, but there is an emotional connection made with our rifles, I know you'll know what I mean, and I know deep down, this one has indeed served well.

 

Re this post. Fab job. Get the women (the raider) oiled and cleaned up and she'll still shoot better than that shitty scorpion mate. Ha. Well... Just as good at least.

Well i stain,d her and was going to oil her up but then i saw that the stain i used was water based and the last time i did her it reacted with the stain so i opted for the laquer insted .

 

She has had about twenty coats of it and i think she looks good im going to let her stand and harden off before i put her back together and i need to buff the action up to atvbmac :thumbs:

Gutted the action fell over and marked it but i put her back together any way here she is finished but not lol as she is not going any where i will do the action again later

I was out the other night with treecreeper and could not hit a thing with the scorpion so the raider may be coming out of retierment sooner than i think lol. :laugh:

 

Got to get this 22 shooting out of my head when using the 177 .
