whitefeet4190 1,729
I was wondering if they would all turn out a bit spastic if I bred my bitch who was runt if litter and a lad has got a very nice looking strong well proven dog but that was also a runt of the litter, would it matter if they breed ? marshman 7,758
I can't see that it would make the pups spastic as you put it ?, are they closely related ? 1 Quote Link to post
whitefeet4190 1,729
They will have same dam but different sire, both dogs I want to breed off are in proportion ie legs body and head and are both are very good at their job 1 Quote Link to post

Not being argumentative, but there is a difference 2 Quote Link to post

Although that's not to say the won't or can't turn up , just tap the screws if there is any . Should be ok though ! Quote Link to post
jeemes 5,083
like shaaark says they are probably just smaller and not runts. Runts are small and weak, not hardy enough for a proper job like Bill Oddy. 2 Quote Link to post
gnasher16 31,286
When inbreeding you need to be reading a pedigree right to left not left to right Brother sister being the tightest breeding possible can still throw virtually unrelated pups by how the genes fall on individuals if there is no common ancestry beyond the parent dogs.....hence you would need to be very unlucky for bad genes to repeat on themself from unrelated ancestry. 3 Quote Link to post
