Guest vin Posted May 14, 2014 Report Share Posted May 14, 2014 Just wanted to let you all know...I had a bit of fun with the mk3 locators this last season. I ended up buying a new one direct from Deben with a 30% discount because my old one was beyond economical repair. I also had 4 new collars at end of last season etc etc. Anyway at the end of this season after a lot of work and plenty of mud in every nook and cranny of all the gear etc etc I ended up with the new locator giving me a slightly off 1 foot mark on locate and my spare locator not working above 6ft on locate plus about 10ft on search.. ( back out with the old grey box for last few trips out ). So I contacted Deben and sent all my kit into them for testing and repair on Monday. They phoned me today and said.. one of my collars was intermittent on signal.. and the other 3 were weak on batteries but all good. My spare locator required a new tuning coil and was repaired and recallibrated to my collars..Also the new locator was set checked and recallibrated slightly to make sure everything is measuring excactly the same on both locators.. They also replaced the collar that was intermittent on the signal with a new one. As the lady on the phone was going through the list of repairs and replacements I started to get worried slightly until she told me it was all Free and even paid my postage.. Now thats what I call.. So we've got a spare now. I'm so bored with not going ferreting I've been catching up on all those little jobs that get left for another day.. Quote Link to post
