Rabbits 0 Woodies 2

Recommended Posts

So after the days chaos...a christening 120 miles away and my 6 year olds birthday back at home, a belly full of childrens party food and more games of pin the tail on the donkey than is safe for one adult male to endure i decided to give the golf course a quick wander this evening. It was a bit breezy to say the least as its right on the coast so i got settled in hoping that the rabbits would come out from what appeared to be quite a large warren.....No such luck though tonight, it was just one of those spooky blank evenings but while sat patiently i did take a nice plump woodie from half way up a sycamore that hadnt spotted me sat there. So off to the car at almost dark when i spotted a rather chubby looking sihllouette on the outer branches of a large tree whos leaves were still just budding. At closer inspection, and i mean close as it was way past dusk it proved to be another woody. Now as im sure as you fellas know, the mk 3 tx is on the weighty side for standing shots up trees but when i kneeled down its head was obscured by a branch and i really do only like head shots on woodies so standing shot it was and he dropped like a stone. 42 yards to the base of the tree so i was pleased with that one.post-94518-0-31650300-1399240755_thumb.jpg

So its a nice brace of woodies for roasting for mondays tea. Makes a nice change from rabbit.....just for now anyway.
