Subsidised Beer For Our Troops; Or Mp's ???

Recommended Posts

A Labour MP wants to stop subsidised beer for our troops serving overseas and make them pay "city bar prices"; a Tory Defence Minister agree's, they are both women, by the way !! No mention of the heavily taxpayer subsidised bars in the House of Commons or the House of Lords, where they drink the finest wines and spirits that troops taxes help to subsidise !!! They are taking the piss big time !! Well, when the troops get their postal votes for the General Election, they should remember this !! I wonder when the Military High Command will say enough is enough !?

The Labour MP said she has just come back from the Falklands and couldn't believe the price of beer, (in the NAAFI, I presume), and seeing "drunken soldiers" !!! What the f**k doe's she expect off duty squaddies to do in that God forsaken shithole, go birdwatching !!! I reckon Farrage would have been having a pint with them ! LOL !

The naafi in uk are same prices as the fookin pub.

Generally the beer and fags when serving abroad reflect the tax free price.

It's not like it's free.

But it's usually squadron and company bars that have cheap duty free that gets sourced out.

What the Fook do you want guys to do pay uk prices in Kenya and Belize?

It's only exercises you can drink now.

Alcohol is banned on ops now too.

You get stiffed paying tax and they give you bonus that's your tax that you shouldn't be paying in first place.

It's pretty sad you get payed more in Norway than you do on a war in afghan. Madness.

The Military Covenant is being dismantled bit by bit; troops on active duty in a war being given their P45's, abyssmal aftercare for wounded or traumatised troops, pathetic family housing, that if it were a private landlord he would be prosocuted, reducing the manning levels to a dangerous point and hoping Reserves can make up the shortfall, and now trying to stop the cheap beer !! What next, pay for their food and kit ????

Since this torrie gov been in power, Cameron.

The forces has truly been doomed.

The fooked us over with pensions. Truly and utterly shocking. Think I have lost 100k easy on an 14 year pension I had already earned.

Then the cheeky b*****ds have the cheek to ask you to complete 22 years for no pension. Which you already agreed to 14 years before hand.

We been paying food and accom for years now ripped off with Sodexo.

I had pay freeze for 4 years.

Trust me mate receiving your P45 last year was a lottery win.

I don't know what it was like across the army as a whole.

But in my regiment it was all the sick lame and lazy that got made redundant.

Unless your one of the unlucky fuckers who had completed 20 years and they f****d you out with no pension.

TA or reserves, no offence to any the lads in it. they do try there best.

98% of them are fooking useless and can't do their job as they got no experience and struggle like Fook.

You get away with one private in section but command roles they can't do their jobs.

I'm not slagging of civi paramedics or mechanics or any other trades if they are doing there trades.

But weekend once a month don't cut it to be a section commander.

I agree mate, I respect and admire the TA, they have done their bit in Tellic and Herric, with great bravery, but they are no replacement for regular, professional troops. To reduce the Army from 120000 to 80000 and hope to plug the gap with 30000 Reserves is madness.

I totally agrees mate.

I do think there is a place for TA as tradesman with the same civy jobs. But you can't plug soldiering command roles with guys doing couple weekends a year.

I totally understand after leaving the forces. The last thing I want todo after 50hrs work is go on exercise at weekend.

It takes a lot of commitment. But they just ain't up to par.
