First Trip Out This Year

Recommended Posts

decided to take a hour or so trip out with my air riffle today for the first time this year.

its my first pcp gun and i have just got it back after sending it to be turned up so it shoots a little different than i had got use to. i brought it in july last year and have had a few sucsessful outings with it so all in all i was farely pleased, although its been performing well i just new it wasnt upto scratch.

anyway i had it chrono tested and found that it was only kicking out 8ft lbs. it arrived back to me a couple of days ago shooting at 11.6ft lbs and i must say ive noticed the difference. after a quick ten minutes setting up the scope i venetured to a farm to see if i could find a crow hanging around the buildings but i had no luck.

after a quick chatt to the farmer i went to his grain stall which produced my first kill of the session, as i walked through some of the buildings a pair of woodies dropped into a oak tree in front of me and has luck would happen i could just see enough of the one bird to take a shot the wind was blowing which meant branches were moving in and out my line of view, i had one chance to take the shot and fired the bird dropped out the tree and was flapping about on the floor.( i was well pleased) i had aimed for the head but upon inspection realized i had hit it through the neck. but i had got what i was after. managed another 3 shots on my walk after that which produced a head shot crow and a rabbit. i missed a rabbit but you cant win them all.
