Matt 160
Ah, thanks Pete I knew I'd seen it and thought it was Bateman.... It's something I've never tried myself; I'd be interested to know if anyone else has? Quote Link to post
perthshire keeper 1,239
done it with a sawyer trap.... got a few misses but i guess thats to do with the jaw angle and the squizzer comeing in from the wrong side? worked better as a single entry tunnel.... same for mink or a long tunnel with a trap at each end Quote Link to post
woodga 170
funny that so just for the sake of debate are those jaws in the over hang of the tunnel because if they are in the gap between the two ends they aint techinically speaking now this is where common sense prevails where as a trap placed in the overhang of a rabbit hole well say no more lol 1 Quote Link to post
Phil Lloyd 10,739
funny that so just for the sake of debate are those jaws in the over hang of the tunnel because if they are in the gap between the two ends they aint techinically speaking now this is where common sense prevails where as a trap placed in the overhang of a rabbit hole well say no more lol Got to agree with ya there Colin... I've used them 'two bit tunnels' years ago,..mostly in Grain Stores, where the Greys were hammering the hessian sacks of corn... I'll never forget the smell of the corn,.it was musky, yet strangely sweet,..it got even sweeter, when I started catching up squirrels and rats in the Imbras. As you know, the Imbra was specially designed as a rabbit trap for block trapping warrens, etc..and I still use a few today for out of season rabbit control.. They are a nice trap and once you get them working slick,.they take a rabbit out,.. real neatly.. . BUT,..that method of using a trap, in a way it was never intended to be used, ie; The Split Tunnel setup,.would probably be against the rules today. This fecking overhang business,. has been hanging over us all,.for far too long.... Edited March 10, 2014 by Phil Lloyd Quote Link to post
MR TEA POT 1,287
even if it was in a over hang it would possible be missed on here think the law needs to be more refined on these matters Quote Link to post
