Guest Ditch_Shitter
Noramectin is said to do mange, mate. I've no personal experience of that because I've simply never had a Dog get mange. But, according to the label, it will do it. I emphasise the 'Nora' because this is Not the much vaunted IVOmectin, which costs about three times the price. That stuff's said to treat Heart worms or something and so costs a fortune. Of course, before anyone messes with injecting the 'mectins, ye'll want to be pretty damn sure there's no Collie blood of any sort or description in the Dog. It kills them. My mate, not knowing this, killed his own Dog (a Border Collie) with it. What I do, if one of my Dogs shows mite irritation, is jab them with 3 Ml. and them jab them with the same again within about two weeks. Certainly sorts them out. Subcutaneous jab, through the skin around the lower back of the neck. For the record; I've no arguement with immersing Dogs in stuff people find safe and to work. I simply have no such stuff here and no way of submerging a Dog as big as the one I treat. At a tenner a bottle and a swift push of the needle, Nora' suits me better. Oh; And I buy it in the local Farmers store.
jasper65 6
A did a deal on a pup from Ireland about 4 years back which had Mange, I'm sure the stuff we treated it with was called Aludex and from what I can remember pretty potent, Mind you it did the job .... Cheers Jasper
jasper65 6
It is top stuff Jasp but unfortunately its prescript only...... tell me about it mate . we took the dog to the vets! they performed a skin scrape and prescribed the Aludex and I got hit with a bill of around £70 , some of these vets commit daylight robbery everyday and get away with it.... reynardhunter 3
my mate has just got a terrier thats got mange any one know any cures he;s been told to bathe the dog in benvol benvolate is this safe to do? do you cover the dog fully and how do you go about batheing the dogsound advice only please cheers the stuff yer mate is talking about is called benzol benzoate its used for scabies in humans, it does work depending on the type of mange, you paint it on humans with a brush, you smear it mostly on the affected part of the dog, if its Demodectic mange then it wont work, it will relieve the itch but only for a while, if its sarcoptic mange then it should clear it up, Demodectic mange is very hard if not impossible to eradicate, good luck

mamoo70 0
Hi, You can use the Noramectin or Ivermectin, But it is best used along with an antibiotic. You can go on line to any pet supply under the Fish section and order antibiotics without a prescription. Amoxicillan works very well with the mectin lines. Now if you want a home remedy you can use Borax, peroxcide and water. You mix 2/3 borax to 1/3 each water and peroxcide. Then you can make a little thicker paste for the real bad spots. Also you want to bath the animal very well and everything that the animal has sat on, lain on etc. Then give him a bath and take your mixture and pour it over him. I only know this stuff through trial and error. I have always had a lot of animals and you just learn over the years. I hope it helps.
dog fox 16
use ivomec mate ,0.3 ml for a terrier you can buy it from any farm supplies just say its for cattle when asked ,benzyl benzonate dosnt work that well on mange and the dog might get worse ,ivomec kills just about everything in the dogs body including round worm, heart worm, lung worm mites and anything else lurking ,if you got other dogs to give them a jab if you got any lurchers with collie in them then i wouldnt do them as collies cant deal with the stuff and is said to be fatal ,i do my terriers all the time with it and a bottle costs about £25 and will last the dogs life .
