mickeyfn19 16
hi all. did a little target practice today and i has a good group going 1/4" at 25 yards and then my pellets started going crazy. my group opened to an easy 1". so i took tyhe silencer off and my poi shifted but miles. so as you do i moved it into the general area of the target and shot a group and what do you know, 1/4" again. so obviously silencer is bent and pellets are catching. is there any way of sorting this out apart from widening the hole at the end? Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
What do you call 'miles' Its a well known fact that removing or fitting a silencer will change your poi. But if it was 'miles out, more than 2-3 inch then you may have a problem Quote Link to post
andy97 209
ye poi changes with silencer mate check the end of your silencer to see it clipping or not youll be able to see pal if not zero with silencer on then move the target out 10 yrds if inline its not cliping Quote Link to post
Lewis Ste 245
Struggle to see how you could bent a silencer, I'd check the internals first to make sure there all in place and check with another silencer. Are you a tool maker in acliffe? Quote Link to post
mickeyfn19 16
miles is about 8" to the right and 6" up. it does look like its clipping and im not a toolmaker but a friend of mine has a the which i have access to. so i can easy knock another end cap or tube up. and you can bend a silencer by giving it a knock Quote Link to post
moxy 617
Bent the tube?? Loose baffle, incorrect alignment on the barrel. Is it sleeved or screwcut? Is it clipping the end or midway? Quote Link to post
reaper1064 285
Just wondering why the grouping wasn't off to begin with. You say that your grouping was ok then it went off. If the silencer was bent then your grouping would be off straight away. Sounds like internals. Take off the silencer and roll it along a flat surface, it will give you an idea if it is bent. mickeyfn19 16
i put it in a lathe today and yes, the tube is bent and by quite a bit. and that is something that i wondered about, why didnt the group go mental at the start? Quote Link to post
