fox digger 1,086
lads in after a dog 26inches plus, little to no bull blood as there is already some in the bitch, wheaten or deerhound cross that is a consistant dog on charlie. the bitch is pushing on in years and im only getting a loan of her to breed a litter from her, she is retired and has seen hundreads in her day aswell as other game. she is 3/4 hound 1/4 bull but you wouldnt see the bull in her, nearly 26 inches and fast enough for daytime running longears. All the fox dogs that i know of are very bully crosses and thats not what im after. A more traditional type dog that is well proven. pups will be divided up between the dogs owner, myself and the man that owns the bitch would like a pup back as long as i find a decent dog. anyone with a good dog will be getting a great chance to get decent pup back of a genuine bitch. the only catch is i have to see the dog going as this may be one of the last oppertunities to breed from the bitch with age and im not waisting it on hear say or wonder stories. I run a handy pack of beagles and flush to lurchers every sunday so if you are interested i can try provide the runs or i will travel any distance to see the dog work at home daytime or under the lamp. so lads alot of ye on here know me and im not a messer, i can use any amount of proven bull hounds but thats not what im after so genuine replys only please, PM if you would prefer. bitch is due to break down shortly. forgot to say if a pup is not wanted for the service i will pay for the service. (not an oppertunity to make a handy few quid by the way!!!!) Edited December 13, 2013 by fox digger 2 Quote Link to post

fox digger 1,086
Your going the right way about it mate now to many boys would have the fiath in working the dogs infront of you but the boys that will and have no problem then you no there dogs are doing what they say they are doing good luck with it mate . Thats the type of bitch I want to breed my dog with in a few ayears time mate if he keeps it up How ya trunk, yea it's not simple to get summon decent, everybody has them and they are "smashing" several foxes a night every night they are out... Where are these dogs when your looking for one!! Im not lookin for a world beater but when the bitch is very good it would be pointless to cover her with a dog of less capability than herself, and there are plenty around me and hunt with us but they are not what I'm after!! I think all the famous consistent fox dogs are fewer on the ground than what is made out to be!! It's easy to say mine is doing it all single handed but I'm not swamped with replys.... It's an opportunity for a man with a good dog to get back pups from his dog off a very decent bitch that has earned the respect she got year in year out and has a lifetime of it behind her. Maybe lads are afraid to bring somebody they don't know around there dogs and I don't blame them, but I'm willing to bring them out with mine and put the foxes in front of the dog, and not go near there place and I don't even want to know where they live if that's the issue. A couple of runs on a couple of foxes is more than satisfactory for me if the dog isn't a young dog and has seen a few seasons of it.... You dog looks like he is flying trunk, I've seen the pics of him on a couple of threads with his prizes!! Cracking looking dog, Maybe I'm askin too much am I? What do ye think? the trunk 2,859
Your on the money mate 100% id like to see these dogs getting 3/4 a night never mind that several lol start of the season yes you could no problem at all but there big cubs they all count once the season opens but from what av seen an heard there doubled up an one dogs took of but in my eyes thats not single handed the dog has to do all the work ! I was out few weeks back with a few mate slipped my young dog with his to bring his dog on my dog turned it 3 times turned it back into the mates dog lifted then when my dog got it the mates dog walked of cant count that as a single hanfed broke my heart big dog fox to lol . In all fairness with that pup of mine I havent got 2 foxes in the same night single handed but hes had few different things in the same night single no problem id work him in front of anyone havent a thing to hide with him but hes still a young dog get a season over him the way hes going il b a happy man like the sound of your self seasoned dog is the big factor am out tomorrow try get the two same day with any luck .ever man has there own expectation of dogs and to find one with the same is like hens teeth have you any pictures of the bitch mate ? 1 Quote Link to post

fox digger 1,086
yea its understandable early in the season getting numbers with cubs, ive had 3 lurchers that have all took fox no hassle, but they wernt proper fox dogs!! i have a bitch at the minute that would make u crack up looking at her behind a fox and picture perfect behind him on every turn but will never commit and strike, useless!! impressive bitch when you are out with terriers...........100% that way, very speedy by day on fast game, so i wont part with her because she does everything else the finest and gets me alot of nights lamping. the 3 before her were all only average fox dogs and get the odd one but miss a hell of alot more than they would catch and not hectic for anything else so 2pts and one given away for free. I think alot of lads may have similar dogs but the ones that do teeth are so scarce that the middling to fair dogs at it are put on a pedistal and made out to be super dogs...... my honest opinion. i know of big heavy bull crosses that are 100% single handed dogs, machines on them and would do big numbers no problem...... but they have to catch them first and there lies the problem!! im not knocking them lads, some are spot on im sure and perfect at them but in my eyes trunks dog is spot on as he is and has enough bull in him and any more is going to effect wind and pace. going on a night lamping and getting a lot of "great courses" but he was "unlucky" and "he was a cute fox" and "shit he nearly had that one" then comming home after getting one fox and maybe after getting a fair chance and coursing 7 or 8 more...... thats not what i think is a good fox dog, equally a dog that is bred for rabbits gets the odd one out of several runs isnt a good rbbit dog. Just because they have teeth doesnt make them any harder to catch but to get a racey dog that will consistantly do teeth isnt so simple and alot of the FOX DOGS ive heard about over the years are in reality game enough but too slow for alot of foxes or long runs. i.e. not a proper fox dog!! I dont have pics of her and i really never take pics unless sumone that was out with us takes them!! I will try get a couple, she is nutting to look at, plain black bitch that looks like a greyhound really, No bull head like on your youngin anyway trunk!! Well he has started well and seems to have the gears so if you look after him im sure he will do it for many more seasons for ya, atb bud. Edited December 13, 2013 by fox digger 2 Quote Link to post

A proven line is the way to go and im sure if your lad has it bred into him from that far back of proven stuff and he is spot on the way you want him now then i think you are on a winner, atb bud thanks. 1 Quote Link to post
