Suzy Ross 236
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MHx19_GKJk Sport minister Helen Grant struggles under pressure (Picture: YouTube) She might be the governments new sports minister, but Helen Grant really needs to brush up on her sporting knowledge. The MP for Maidstone struggled with a selection of sport questions during a brief quiz with ITV at an event in Kent. Grants intense interrogation started with: who is the Wimbledon womens champion? Oooh, err. Its not one of ours, she replied. But I know Andy Murray did it for us, which was absolutely fantastic. Thats the most important thing. Correct answer: Marion Bartoli Oops: Grant struggles with the opening question (Picture: YouTube) Next up was an easy one. Who are the current FA Cup holders? Come on, help! Grant said to her press officer before going in with an answer. Manchester United because its my favourite club. Correct answer: Wigan Athletic They dont get any easier, do they? (Picture: YouTube) Probably time to cut your losses at this point, something the 52-year-olds assistant tried to do by interrupting the next question Who is the England rugby union captain? Correct answer: Chris Robshaw Rugby is clearly not Grants thing (Picture: YouTube) That was brushed off, but they kept coming, and so did the dodgy answers. Up next: Which year did Maidstone United leave the football league? Last year, Grant said, a little bit confidently. Correct answer: 1992. Nor is the Olympics even though it was in London (Picture: YouTube) It was soon time to put the poor MP out of her misery. The last question, and one to do with the London Olympics. Which Paraolympian won most medals at London 2012? Dave Weir, was her answer. Correct answer: Jacqueline Freney Total score: 0/5 The mood was summed up by one commenter on YouTube: Do we actually pay her?

Blackbriar 8,569
Widen your search and the list of incompetent fools grows............ Jeremy Hunt, the Health Minister, has not been a doctor or nurse. Michael Gove, the Education Minister, has never been a teacher. Vince Cable, the Business Secretary, has never owned or run his own business. Philip Hammond, the Defence Secretary, has never served in the Armed Forces. George Osborne, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, has never worked in finance or banking sectors (except his own, which run to many millions of pounds!) Even the Prime Minister himself can only boast of a brief tenure as Special Advisor to Norman Lamont on his CV - he has no meaningful work experience, outside politics, and certainly none to qualify him as a 'leader of men' ! I could have researched many of the other ministers, but I don't know who half of the faceless idiots are !
sussex 5,803
Private or selected school , university , political researcher , MP ....you are now equipped to be a minister in government ( a good grounding in mathematics is an advantage to maximise your expenses ) . At what point you actually gain any insight into the real world of work , paying your own bills etc escapes me at the moment , but somewhere along the line this must suddenly come to them , allowing them to then tell us what we are doing wrong & how to correct it thus enabling us to live comfortable stress free lives .............Bowlocks
Buch 145
I dont recon some one needs real world experience in the field that they are minister in but i definitely think that they should have real world experience in something. For instance my MP is called Rosie Cooper i think, when i looked a while back all she seems to have done in her life was move round different areas of Liverpool trying to get voted in in some form or another, failing untill she because MP for West Lancs. Now how the frig can a Liverpudlian be MP for West Lancs? She may be not that far away geographically but why not leave it for some one who is local ffs so they can fight for local issues that matter. Its a joke. Its a career ladder for most of them and i despise them for it.
