pmatty77 26
Not sure about 500m,but have a look at the cree torches/headlamps on e bay or you tube.with the rechargeable battery's,might not be what you want but worth a look, the power is measured in lumen the higher the more powerful,i use a 1600lm or 1800lm for lamping bunny's with the dogs, this one has colour filters. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1600LM-CREE-XML-T6-LED-Zoomable-Headlamp-Torch-Bicycle-Light-4-Color-Filters-/151080772220?pt=UK_SportsLeisure_Camping_LightsLanternsTorches&hash=item232d1da27c Edited October 19, 2013 by pmatty77 Quote Link to post
rob190364 2,594
500m with a cree? not a chance....I've got a 1600 lumen cree, it's OK up to about -100 meters or so, any more than that and it's just not a patch on a proper lamp. They're good for small fields but nothing more than that IMO. 1 Quote Link to post

wuyang 513
Have a look at night master 800 derelight. Also depends with led torches what type of beam you want...if you want to do more research on led torches, have a look on the candlepower forum. Quote Link to post
kevk 12
Seen one on eBay but ultra fire says 800 m it has 3 LEDs in the one head xm-l 3 I think it called Quote Link to post
kevk 12
But I also know eBay have a lot of fake stuff so am unsure if to trust it Xm-l cree 3800 lum torch ultra fire Quote Link to post
wuyang 513
Ultrafire are low end cheap lights. Costs a fair bit for a decent torch....something with an aspherical lens will give you good length of beam... Tightly focused though.......some blokes on gamekeeper section got a thread on night master 800.... There's a YouTube clip the night master, if I get chance I'll put the you tube clip up later. It's off ebay, can't remember how much I paid for it but it wasn't much. Don't get me wrong it's bloody bright, and good enough for small fields. it just doesn't have the beam for distances. Like you say though, you get what you pay for.....I think it was about 15 quid from memory. I just use it for a back up in case my bulb goes, or I have it in my pocket if I'm just on a wander.
