PJWmids 35
I'm looking to buy a second hand pcp and dive bottle. How do you know how much test is left on a dive bottle? Is it marked on the bottle or does it have a certificate? Thanks for any info. Quote Link to post
Craig Fosse 286
If it hasn't been tested dice it was brought it will have the date of manufacture on the bottle, if its been tested since it will have written confirmation of test date Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
The way the date is usually marked by an IDEST station is by punched sticker after a test (ink and/or pencil can wash off in water you see, hence punched sticker)! If your cylinder has no labels, it has never been tested! The date of manufacture is stamped into the bottle! Quote Link to post
PJWmids 35
Thanks for the info. Where do you get them tested and how much does that cost? If it was out of test will you be unable to get it filled or is it possible to still get filled for air guns. Quote Link to post

No test no fill A test should vary between £35 - £50 at a dive centre or a specialist outfit. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Google IDEST test centres, if you dont mind a run out these guys are great! http://www.underwaterworld.co.uk Quote Link to post
scissorman 13
If its out of test you wont be able to get it filled. As has been said already it will be stamped on the bottle or puched in the plastic. Dont trust a written test certificate on its own. IT MUST BE ON THE BOTTLE Quote Link to post
