Word Of Warning For Micro Ferret Owners.

I recently aquired a new addition to my team a little micro type jill kit. . .she has been in a run with my other ferts for about 2 weeks. When I got up this morning I noticed the dogs watching something with great interest in the corner of the yard..I went out and found the little fert had escaped and was trying to dig itself a hole out of the corner of my yard...lol. I looked at the run and could not find a hole anywhere and no other ferts were missing ( what a relief ). I could not work out how the little one had got out and thought i must have let it out when i fed them late last night...

 

So I put it back in the run and went back to my morning cuppa.. I could not believe my eyes when I saw it running round the yard with the dogs 5 mins later... So off i went again... this time i hung around a little longer and the little cheeky monkey showed me its secret..

 

So beware of them hopper type feeders... the gap is so small its unbelievable... Sorted it now with a piece of additional wood and a lid..just to be on the safe side..

 

 

 

PS..Sorry I mentioned micro.. its a small ferret.

Lol. How small is she? Can you upload a photo holding her? I have seen very thin jills with small build but don't know if they were micro.

The wheel is constantly in motion all day and night sometimes..they all have a go at some point of the day..the hob likes a little stroll and then a kip in it.

but a couple of my jills go mental on it some nights. . it keeps them fit.
