Well went to the gun shop yesterday just for a nose well they had a brand new batch 97s in as I was nosing about abd eyeing up what I can't afford lol

So after look about I asked could I please have a look so the guy handed me a sporter stock 97k in .22 and all I can say is OMG i nearly ran out of the shop like a 3 year old what a rifle I must say just the whole feel of it made me sweat haha

Well at a good price too I may be back at that shop in the near future I can tell u

Yes mate I think I will but I don't know whether to trade the ultra in for it and have a nice bit of cash for a scope

A good rifle deserves a good scope.....

 

but you might regret getting rid of the ultra, especially if its your only PCP.

 

did you handle the thumbhole 97 aswell, ?? theres quite a difference from the sporter version...

Yes mate it does deserve a nice scope and yes I may regret it as it is my only pcp

And no haven't held one yet but will do when I go back down

But there was something about holding that gun that I've never felt when holding another gun is it love or was i over heated ? Haha

I tried the sporter stock then the KT, but I could only choose one so the KT won ! I would try and find one to try

I was reading one of the air gun mags and there was an artical about the new 97,s and the build quality on them and they have addressed the problems and they are going to have new stocks that are made by some one els and they are supposed to be some thing els but i can not remember the name of the stock maker ill pm my mate and ask him as it was one of his air gun mags and he will tell me the name of the mag and the stock maker atvbmac

I thought both stock types looked really good and both are well balanced, more weight in the KT stock.

 

No need to buy a CS walnut stock in my opinion..

I did like the weight and balance of my old sporter stock from my hw97k, that pianoman now has, I believe on his hw77, was a very nice stock

but I just prefer the thumbhole. which probably is slightly heavier

Yeah that's what I liked mate it had nice balance and felt a pleasure to hold

I could shoot the 97 pretty well in the sporter but better in the thumbhole.

the 95k I had I didn't like, it didn't feel 'right' like the sporter of the 97 did. god knows why. guess it just wasn't the rifle for me lol
