The patience involved in that is unreal: I've messed around a bit in Photoshop, and it takes so long! That restoration must have taken hours.

The most I've ever done in Photoshop is to remove a piece of grass or a bit of another dog in the foreground if goes across the subject, for example. Or removing bits of crap from the background: takes ages just to do that if you want a good result

picasa is far quicker for doing little things like that

Don't! I've only touched the surface of Photoshop, and it's taken me ages to get this far. I don't do, or want to do, enough to get really good at either photography or editing: the thought of having to learn a whole new app is a step too far, though I must admit, it does look a lot easier from the Picasa vid I just watched.

I use it more for adjusting white balance, levels etc than altering the photo. I like to take photos that little bit under exposed and fiddle with it on photoshop. I just hate over exposed photos lol. If its slightly under exposed it adds mood, over exposed and it looks flat.
