Rannerdale,whiteless Pike,grasmoor & More..

Recommended Posts

Had a canny walk again yesterday afternoon, never got home until nigh on 8pm..walked 12 1/2 miles almost all of it either up hill or down bloody treacherous mountain goat type paths lol..Grasmoor is the highest of the mountains in the Buttermere valley and overlooks Crummock Water..it stands at 852m or 2795ft ..dogs really enjoyed it and covered some serious ground up there..weather was ok low down but higher up the wind was wild..infact it was rather daft of me to of went up there with the wind so strong but thankfully we made it both ways safely..JUST ..as when we were coming down from Grasmoor from Causedale Head which separates Grasmoor from High Crag and is no easy walk I slipped off the path lol but managed to grab onto some heather and saving myself from a trip into the rocky stream below :-) ...suns shining today so we will be out :-)

Photobucket being a twat..hang fire lol

Smashing place to be with the dogs....:)

To be fair these are the places just 20 minutes away from home, there are for more scenic/picturesque places around the Lake District but it beats walking along the cycle path anyways lol..

On top of Grasmoor looking towards home lol..

I could think of no were better looking at the picks to walk the dogs, you got a full 360 degrees view up there do you ever bump into any one well walking up there...atb

Hey up Jack..I didn't see a single person higher up yesterday..but there was a few people paddling about the lower slopes and paths..I try and keep to the quieter areas to be honest..Windermere,Ambleside,,Keswick etc are seriously busy most of the year..I want hassle free, peace, quiet and somewhere the mutts can have total freedom and more or less do as they please..

2975ft up and not much in view but there was a welcome weather shelter which was grand as I could have a brew and summat to eat without getting blown around lol..

This is a great advertisement to all the new guys with dogs. You only have to read the minshaw thread to see the work these dogs do. If you ever wonder how ,its because men like this spend there dying days out with the mutts putting the fitness in to man and dog. Not sat at home out walking until the sun goes down.

Them mutts will fly this season fitness sure aint gonna be an issue
