bobcullen79 1,495
Ive got two serama roo`s and up until last week, I was boxing them up, then in a wooden chest, in my concrete shed. and you could just hear them if you knew they were there. Since the mite problem Ive burnt all the boxes and the roos stay with the hens now and its noticeably louder and earlier.. The neighbours don't seem to mind during the day, haven't had a complaint, I think they enjoy it a bit, reminds them of times gone by when it was the norm to have a few hens and a roo. Im not sure how long you`d get away with a big bird crowing though.
air gun ant 1,666
i had to get rid of my silkie cockrel because a f*cking neighbour complained, not to me like you would think was the first course of action but to the council who then came around mesuring sound levels etc and in the end i just took him to a mates farm where unfurtunatly one of the dogs got it should of just pulled its neck and chucked it at said neighbour

asil american 3
. Build a chicken coop with nesting boxes and perches. The coop should be dark and the perches or roosts arrange like a ladder. The top perch should be close enough to the ceiling of the coop that the rooster cannot stretch out to crow. This way, the birds can then free-range in the day. At night they safely and quietly roost until the coop is opened.
