Recommended Posts

Hi guys at what age can i take my jill away from the kits? The kits are starting to eat bits of solids but still relying on milk aswell they are just 4 week old now eyes are still closed but when the kits start eating she drags them away. I am just giving them cat meat for kittens and they love it but she want let them eat for long. Whats the best thing to do?

As soon as they're eating independent and drinking from the water bottle I take them from the jill.

How can i stop her from stopping the kits eating the food? I am not looking at re homing yet just wanting the kits to get use to mum not being there all the time and start whening them off her.

Take her out when they're eating, it won't bother her being away for a short period.

You can try taking her out for a hour then two while your feeding them and gradually build up to all day and putting her back in at night to feed them if you want . but by four weeks they should be diving in when your feeding them i would take the jill away at six weeks and run the kits on for another two weeks by themselves to let you see there fine on there own and do plenty handling
