The dog in question is a big built powerful animal and if his quarry out performs him he sometimes let's out a yap in frustration and if it hits cover and he can't get to it will also yap. It doesnt bother me really he's a handy dog and is pretty much indestructible. Atb 1 Quote Link to post

Westy76 546
A yapping lurcher would honestly do my head in but if you can cope with it and its catching who gives a monkeys but you may not get many invites. 1 Quote Link to post
darbo 4,779
yes ive seen yappers catch plenty.give a young dog confidence catches early on not running it on impossble targets.run it fit. dont run it with a injury.ive seen dogs quiet on rabbits but open up on hares.running woodland heavy cover can bring out the worse in some dogs.say a prayer some dogs yap despite your best efforts and some dont. 7 Quote Link to post
