Are they supposed to do that without a calculator?

 

Seems pretty harsh for a 9 year old kid but then at least he's being pushed unlike some schools

Nah, like someone said, they can use whats available, but have to show how they got to their answer.. I dont think googling would count though. Feck , I couldnt do it with a calculator and a calender :laugh:

I'v got a 9 year old daughter myself and I'd say I'm quite an intelligent bloke (dossed through shool stoned out my face yet I always somehow got top grades much to the annoyance of the boffins) but some of the questions she gets have my head hurting and on the phone to my old man who's an accountant/human calculator!!
