Wether smithy was offended or not is not the real issue. A genuine longstanding member who contributes to the Thl( not just uses the site to sell stuff), asks for help and is given a piss take reply. It discourages people to ask a sensible question in this section.

Yes smithy could have used google but sometimes information is better from people who know first hand.

Apologies buster you smart arse I did overlook your link and thank you all for the help.

I don't think smithie was offended and I don't believe any offence was intended. Banter is banter.

Not talking about this topic, but I do think that people in general on THL might not be asking the questions they would perhaps like to ask because of the answers (we've all seen them) like "Do a search" or "Not this old chestnut again" or "FFS" etc.

Almost every question asked here is answerable by googling or looking back through previous threads, but if everyone did that, there's no point in joining a forum of like minded people.

If my mate told me he'd bought a new motorbike, I'd ask him what the top speed was, even though I could google it and save one sentence of dialogue. Bad example, as I'd google it anyway in case he was lying.

I've said it before - that I think there should be a question and answer section on THL, where people can post questions and others can answer if they want to. If they don't want to answer or see the "same old questions", don't go to that section.

That's my walshie thought for the day. Oh, and if I want to ask a question, I will, and if someone wants to answer it great, and if they don't, they can kiss my arse.

No mate , to be fair you have a valid point . I guess sometimes no thought is given to how we are percieved , and i guess a newbie could be put off very easily . And i am a smart arse ;)

I wasn't having a pop at you at all mate. I actually thought your link was very funny. It was an "in general" statement.

As this just happens to be a topic I know the answer to (even though it looks like a certain member doesn't believe me), I thought I'd share the knowledge. Especially as I probably won't know the answer to the next 10 questions I see.

Smithy........SMITHY....................!!! Where are you, you naughty boy?

See what you've gone and done now?

You've asked a sensible question and upset everyone. You've now started off one of those debates that will run for 14 pages until the mods get fed up with it taking up bandwidth and then they will lock it like they have done the others.

I hope you're please with yourself!

Now go and sit in the corner of a field somewhere and shoot your gun through you Chrony until you realise your mistake................. :nono: then come back and say :sorry: - (but not until at least page 13)!!

 No worries mate. didn't mean it like that. The six inches you are referring to is how far above the sensors the shot needs to be.

Now when you check your gun from the correct distance, it'll probably be 6ft/lbs

Actually, it's between 4 and 6 inches above the sensors, I think and it certainly shouldn't be as low or as 'on the p1ss' as were these two shots!

the only thing about these ( i got rid of mine ) is there are a bugger in certain light . I would always have to shield mine against sunlight , bright or not , and it just bevame a pain in the arse . A combro is just as good IMHO , just for a quick power check , just dont fall into the trap of doing string after string , you'll become obsessed and just cast doubt on your abilities .
