Craig83 52
whats the best .17HMR ammo?....suppose thats the million dollar question Quote Link to post
kenj 131
You won't go far wrong with a CZ 452 .17 Varmint. Mine has a 16 in barrel and trigger kit. No special tools needed to fit the kit. Mine is still spot on after many years and never had a problem with it. I use Remmington, but now have some Hornady, both made by the same manufacturer. This the review of my CZ. http://www.urbanfieldsportsman.com/index.php/cz-452-varmint-17-hmr-rimfire/ Also one of my recent outings with said rifle. http://www.urbanfieldsportsman.com/index.php/cz-452-varmint-17-hmr-meets-a-rabbit-explosion/ 1 Quote Link to post
Craig83 52
what grain and label sorry Quote Link to post
kenj 131
I've always used 17 grain. No need to go heavier, the rifle packs so much punch for a rimfire. The trigger kit is just a couple of new springs. Don't set it too light to avoid accidental firing. 1 Quote Link to post
iana 25
Im just about to recieve my FAC iv got FAC Air, 17HMR and .22LR on it. Im looking to buy a .17HMR first. What's good and what's not? Id like a tactical stock first, and fairly cheap. your previous post states that youve got your interview this saturday, you dont know what you will be granted yet? if you get both 17 and 22 your doing well!! The CZ range will do anything and more that you will ever want in the field. Chill out, if the trigger isn't clever there is plenty you can do about it, BUT loads of people don't, because it is fine for them! Quote Link to post
paulus 26
I've always used 17 grain. No need to go heavier, the rifle packs so much punch for a rimfire. The trigger kit is just a couple of new springs. Don't set it too light to avoid accidental firing. the trigger kit consists of 5 springs and 5 tubes that will achieve a trigger pull to suit dependent on the combination used , however the tubes are not needed for the new 455 cz Quote Link to post
optelic2 48
Cz get my vote picked mine up from a dealer for £250 with 2 metal five shot mags . Only thing ive done to it is fit a Yodave trigger kit which transformed accuracy at range.. I only use 17 grain Hornady ammo as i found 20 grain ammo to 'shoot through' more often than not. AR177 588
+1 for CZ Ive got a CZ455, afer the 12quid trigger kit which i fitted myself (takes longer to unscrew the stock than it does to install the kit) it now has a brilliant trigger and is very accurate Quote Link to post
PLEDGEY 496
If you are after a 22lr and a HMR just get 2 CZ452's in those calibers, fit 2 trigger kits for sweet trigger action (videos of fitting on Youtube). Buy Winchester 40g Hollow Points for the 22 and Hornady 17g V-Max for the HMR. You could spend more money....but what's the point?. There are people on here that have shot thousands of rabbits with CZ's, and i doubt if they had had expensive rifles it would have made much, if any, difference. It's practice that makes the real difference. I got CZ's,both 452's, both with 20'' barrels. 2 Quote Link to post
Craig83 52
Finally picked up my first rimfire today, from a member on here.... Al I can say is holy sh!t, as soon as i got home it was hunting gear on and out shooting. Before you know it, it was turning squirrels inside out. Wow its a different world. Quote Link to post
Furittus 35
CZ is an excellent choice , mine has give no problems at all, also trigger kit makes such a difference, best £12 I ever spent, and 17 grain Federal ammo, the bunnies don't like it , but the ferrets love them. Quote Link to post
