Dusting The Cobwebs Off The Old S10

Recommended Posts

Im back on at one of my yearly rabbit jobs, nice large cottage set in about 2 acres of pristine gardens and woodland.

There is not so many rabbits here but those that are the lady of the house likes to keep it that way as they have cost her thousands in plants and specimen roses.

So today with the sunshine i had a walk on to set the traps and have a pop at whatever was about.

Of late i have only been shooting the rapid and nothing else has really had a look in, so i treat the old S10 to an outing.

I love this little gun, accurate, consistent and very reliable. It loves accupels but its having AAF through it at the moment which are just as good.

I landed and started listening to the lady of the house in the garden whilst she expressed her gripes, watching 2 good sized rabbits hapilly munching away on the lawn. I was thinking to myself, please stop yacking so i can get the gun out and deal with them. But no! she continued and one disapeared into the borders, not to be seen again.

She finally buttoned it and off to the van i went. the fun began!

I just had a slow wander round as i cleared the trap sites of debris and took a few young rabbits as i went about my buisness.

Nice shooting Mick ;)

Small Permissions can be little Gems in their own right,

I've picked up a perm about 10 x 12 acres near My house so gonna have a Look tomorrow.

Nice post moxy you need to give your follower Mawders more of these accounts! I love your s10 buddy. I loved my mk3 BBK but just wish it had been in .177 instead of .22 which for me was its downfall. That and the fact it was BBK, I lived the mk3 stock but wanted the more traditional barrel and silencer set up.

By the way, you lucky bugger, that looks like a lovely little permission.

I will get on it phil. Yes sir.

My S10 is .22 and to be honest I have never had any issues nor have I considered swapping it or getting a .177.

But saying that I have not tried it in .177 so maybe I don't know what I'm missing?

I would be interested to find out.

It's one of the best ratting guns I have ever owned. As I have said before the only issue I had was the noise, but a HW silencer took care to that.

works out a bit cheeper in .177, but if you dont get on with it then its a no go... if you do, you'll like it. i couldnr get on with .22 over a few weeks..but thats me.(and posably the gun at the time).

good stuff, super too.

moxy..one thing about rapids is that awsome shot count, i dont think i could use a falcon again lol..35 shots per fill! eeek!!

My rapid is FAC so unless I wind it down I don't get the shot count. Unregged I get about 40 shots before I loose the sweet spot.

Cheers.
