I remember moving from a senior school because it was shut down (it was shockingly bad and rough), to a better and posher one, wearing a home knitted jumper in the uniform colour.........it was an interesting first day...........don't think that would happen now My Mum (bless her) used to knit all our school jumpers, and her friend up the street made the trousers - 13 years old and your Mam's best friend's got her hand up your crotch " Yes, the blazer is a bit big, but you'll grow into it !"
