Price For Squirrel Trapping In The Garden?

Recommended Posts

The council charge £125 for renting Kanias in the loft for a couple of weeks.

I charged £50 set up and £10 per squirrel for the last job I did.

Not sure how to price squirrels in the garden as attendance is required to despatch each one and to reset the trap.

I have one cage trap and a bodygrip and cage and the crappy bird feeder in a cage type (Peacocks or some company).

Probably get more cage traps.

Can anyone advise.

I find the elgeeco squirrel cage a very good but of kit. Mounted to a fence or tree mine account for many squirrels each year.

I have done away with the bird feeder and string shelled peanuts through the cage. I can't comment on the peacock type but I'm guessing it will be similar.

Dont think that price from the council is that bad to be honest. If you charge £50 and catch 2 squirrels and have done 3 visits its only £23 pound a visit on your price scale. minus tax, traps, insurance and fuel from that and you havnt got much of a margin. not knocking it though, charge what you need to.

I checked on the councils web site, it's actually £192 for two weeks squirrel control if the house owner checks the traps. If the council check the traps its £300 odd.

I spoke the council pestie and he told me they rent the Kanias in effect. Said they use Sunpack Extra Crunchy peanut butter (it smells more than the std stuff) or the chocolate spread.

I think their hourly rate is just over £100.

I think I'll charge more this time as they can be tricky. Something like £50 set up and £30 per visit.

company i used to work for,,, charged 80 set up,,,, then 20 for evry squigy,, this was 10 year back,, i usualy charge around 150,,, but it depends on the amount of sqirrels,,,, one job i have now,, in a big old garden ,,, usualy results in 20 or so i do this house garden evry year,, and have 3 traps in place year round,,, but un set,, then come april ,may the cliant rings and i spend around two weeks to wip them out,,,

one thing though you need the cliant to check the traps,,, its no good going evry day or youl make no dough

I caught six and then the customer said, That's enough."

I had four traps but two were catching them. One each morning and two on Sunday.

One was an Elgeeco with an old type catch mechanism which does not work too well upright, I had it on its side in a tree. The door is a bi-folding one rather than the version on youtube with the door that lifts up and hooks onto the feeder.

On mine a rod goes in a loop on the door to set the door open, and it does not work too well when set upright.

Interestingly the last one was lactating and I could see the saliva of her kits on her nipples.

So guessing that the others maybe supplied her with food while she was nursing the kits, she was the important one to get.

All had fleas and some bit me, nasty little buggers.
