The one 8,577
Butchers cant handle the volume they only want half a dozen a week ,and game dealers are cheap skates offering next to nothing better selling them round the pub for a few quid or swap them 1 Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
Or give them to you workers, who put them in your bag, in the first place. Your Dug and the Ferts. Id rather give them to them to eat than some robbing gamedealer. Quote Link to post
fitchet 788
I struck gold at the start of this season a young lad 3 doors away started up his own game dealing business. He was giving me £2 per rabbit with the jacket on. In the end to make it easier I gut them in the field lop off there feet and head and put them in the freezer in rows. When I get a few I drop them off to him for abit of money for fuel and swap them for dog meat .... Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
Years ago i dealt with a game dealer from Ayr, who covered my area, then i got 40p a rabbit just as it was, not gutted, put in the freezer in rows. i had three chest freezers, I was snaring, ferreting, Lamping and netting. and I would go out with the local keeper, my job was to open and shut the gates, and I kept the rabbits, on some good nights he could shoot 60. then Maggie Thatcher allowed China to bring in one million process rabbits, cant remember if this was weekly or monthly. The market collapsed and the game dealer told me he couldn't take them. i remember asking him where these un gutted, skin on went to, he said Pedigree dog food. Quote Link to post
