'Clifford Etienne Sentence Reduced From 160 Years To 105 Years By Judge'

Former heavyweight boxer Clifford Etienne, who learned to fight while serving a prison sentence who reportedly had an unprecedented 30-0 prison record while a member of the 'Gunslingers' prison boxing team in Louisiana, has had his sentenced reduced to 105 years behind bars for a crime spree that included stealing more than $1900 from a check-cashing business, attempted murder, stole a car before crashing it and attempted to shoot two police officers.

Reports are that state District Judge Wilson Fields in Baton Rouge ,Louisiana re-sentenced Etienne to 105 years. He originally was sentenced to 160 years in 2006. Prosecutors say the judge was correcting the earlier sentence.

Etienne (29-4-2), a former high school football star in Louisiana, was paroled in 1998 after serving 10 years for attempted armed robbery.

He then became a professional boxer, nicknamed 'The Black Rhino'. In 2001, Etienne signed a multi-fight deal with Showtime, but his career ended soon after a 49-second first-round loss to 'Iron' Mike Tyson in February 2003.

Etienne, also faced the likes of Lamon Brewster, Frans Botha, Calvin Brock and Nikolay Valuev as a professional heavyweight boxer.
